| The David White 3000 Universal Level Transit is the predecessor to the popular 8300 ('70s and '80s) and current LT8-300 models. (Click HERE for 8300 specs and info) These units with the grey wrinkle finish were manufactured in the mid-50s to early '60s (an even earlier black version was offered in the late '40s). Specifications and operation were similar to the 8300, but this unit was substantially heavier. This particular instrument actually is tagged as an "8300", but it is identical to a 3000 we have (which is not in as nice condition!) so we suppose it was sort of a"transitory" model. As pictured here, it has not yet had final cleaning and service, which is of course included in the purchase price, but it is already in great shape as it stands. We will further polish the exposed brass, clean, and calibrate the unit. Priced at SOLD. | ||||||
