| This very cool collectible is not a pocket model..but a full-size instrument with a 6" compass needle. These were produced until the early 1920s, but, to the best of our knowledge, this one dates from much earlier. It is in very nice condition---complete and operational, and comes with the brass protective cap which threads over the glass compass window. It has a beautiful patina. It is pictured here as we received it. Included in the asking price...we will clean the unit and service the moving parts; we do NOT recommend polishing the brass. As you can see, the sighting arms are relatively short. As shown in the Gurley catalog, the arms are much taller (longer). We have a set of the taller sighting arms....buyer can choose which ones they prefer at no additional cost. Turn of the century Gurley 227 vernier compass with brass cover cap...$895.00! | |||||||||
