This is a "manual station", sort of the missing link between add-on EDMs and total stations. Unlike the total station, the angles must be read optically, as with a traditional theodolite, and then entered via the keypad (total station angles are read electronically). You can then perform distance measuring operations with the built-in EDM unit. Essentially, you are getting a nice optical theodolite with the distance-measuring capability thrown in! This rugged, all-metal instrument is in good cosmetic and excellent operating condition. We have completely serviced and calibrated it in our own repair shop. The batteries (the classic BDC 18) are freshly recelled. The SDM3F06 comes complete with the original case (good solid condition), charger, 2 BDC-18 batteries, illuminator, and owners manual.
